Hi there, need some suggestions on what fish to get next I have 181 litre cubed tank, fish I currently have in my community are;

2 Dwarf Gourami's, 1 Albino Shark, 3 Silver Bala Sharks, 3 Clown Loaches, 4 Albino Tiger Barbs, 3 Red Crabs & 1 Whiptail Catfish

I was thinking maybe a few galaxy rasbora''s... But that's about it, anyone have any suggestions/recommendations

The only thing I can say is that your sharks and Loaches will outgrow your tank, so maybe think about the long term and think about purchasing a larger tank to house the fish you already have.

Hate to say it but I agree...

Loaches get too big...
Silver Sharks get too big...
Red Claw Crabs need access to get out of the water (they arent fully aquatic!), they need a bit of salt in the water (they come from brackish areas!) and they will eat fish if they can catch them.
Albino Sharks get very territorial, they need along tank not a cube tank, you might find when it hits adulthood that it bullies all your fish mercilessly.

The sharks would certainly eat the tiny Celestial Pearl Danios (formerly called Galaxy Rasbora)

Thanks for your advice peeps, still learning as I'm going along, I do plan to purchase another tank further down the line to house the bigger fish.

Ahh that would explain why the crabs are climbing up my heater Doh!! Lol. How will I give them access to get out of the water :/
Do you recommend I put a little bit of salt in the water?, will this affect the other fish?, may all be pretty obvious questions to you all, but I've learned quite abit from joining this forum :)

Personally... I would take the crabs back because eventually... you will find them eating your fish >.< failing that... drop your water level a few inches and buy a turtle dock (they are plastic shelves with suckers that stick to side of the tank) and add a plant on the dock so they feel safe. But honestly... if they get the chance... they will climb right up and out of your tank! And worse still... survive long enough to run round the house and die somewhere really awkward and then smell bad. We had 10-15 escape at work and kept finding them running all over the place! Id rather see a spider!

I wouldnt add salt at this point as it wont do your current fish any good, the crabs will just have to do their best.

The best person to speak to about the crabs is Neale Monks in the Brackish section of the forum :) and you arent asking obvious questions at all, you are asking *important* questions and thats a great thing! You'll be an excellant fishkeeper in no time at all with the attitude you have :) Dont change that!

As for your bigger fish... don't worry when people jump at that, you have 6 fish that potentially reach 30-35cm... thats going to be some big tank you need! However... you have time and now you areaware because some people arent when they get the fish :)

The Whiptail catfish is an awesome choice!! They are great fish and I really love them!

Personally, if you were to add any more fish... I would at least double your number of tiger barbs, they do far better in larger groups and have less tendancies to just kill each other and everyone else.

Oh no, the red crabs were the misses choice, and the idea of them escaping and running around the house freaks me out to be fair haha. I'll most prob take them back. My plan is to eventually save enough for a larger tank, which will house my bigger fish and the current tank I have to house a fish like Siamese fighter or an Oscar fish both really cool but it will be hard deciding which one to get :/ anyway thanks for the advice
