What To Feed My Fancies?

whats the best food to feed my fancies as i dont want them to get swim bladder damage? i have daphnia and i feed them peas. is it ok to feed them goldfish flakes if i soak them first??

If you want to avoid swimbladder then dont feed flakes at all as it builds up gasses in the intestines. Try a granular sinking food instead.

i feed by fancy goldfish:

Cucumber
Shelled peas
Daphnia
Blood worm
Pellets (two different varietys)
Goldfish Flakes
Banana (only leave it in for 10 minutes max)
Mini algea wafers.

I feed my 2 on some sinking pellets...2 smaller ones are not very keen and they do muck the tank up but they get sb if I use anything else.

I have had fancy fish for many years and have always fed them aquarian goldish flakes. They have been fine and I have never had any problems. They probably effect different fish differently.

Plenty of veg keeps them going to the toilet.

Tetra bought out a sinking pellet food especially designed for fancies. Its called Tetra Japan. Never had a problem using it so far.
