What To Feed A Valentini Puffer

i seen one in the lfs today and was wondering what do they eat. i know they need a 30 gal tank or bigger but what exacly do they eat. can they eat brine shrimp can they eat bloodworm and frozen cockels. please i realy want to find out.

They will eat almost anything

Very easy fish to keep

If you get one make sure there is no powerheads they can get sucked into - they are not great swimmers

i have a powerhead but its only for flow and where it sucks in is out of bounds for any fish. i was goning to get a short spined or a long spined black sea urchin today what are they like to keep are they hard to keep.

from what ive heard there prolific algae eaters but also love corraline algae so they will prob strip your rocks. its why i decieded not to get one, i think the pencil urchin dosent eat corralien or one of them im sure dosent but i cant actually remeber which one

Urchins are easy to keep

They do strip coralline algae but thats a good thing as coralline clogs live rock and makes it less effective for filteration

to be fair its never been proven that corelinealgae effects filtration.

Also, they tend to knock down rocks and corals that aren't glued on.

Make sure to give the puffer plenty of vegetation as this is their main food in nature.

would dried seaweed be ok. i have bought mussles for it and cockles

Yes, valentinis have a hard time competing for food, being that they are slow swimmers
