What To Do?

We need a little more information than this im afraid.

What has happned to the liverock?
Does the tank have any livestock in the tank at the moment?
What other types (if any) of filtration do you have alongside the exsisting liverock.

What makes you so sure the liverock is dead?

Even reefbones (liverock that has been dried out for a few months) can be turned back into liverock again.

I do not have a salt water tank right now and I was just wondering for the future...I am hoping to set up one...so I am doing my research

You can purchase cured and uncured liverock from most lfs. The quality and therefore the length at which it needs before its read yto take a bioloload varies greatly. I have known tanks to be setup with good quality liverock and have fish in within an hour and no readable spikes in amoonia and nitrite. I also know of tanks that have taken a couple of months to mature with uncured liverock.
