I've decided my common pleco just isn't suited for my main tank. I moved him to my puffer tank for the moment since it is still freshwater and desperately needs an Algae Eater and the fact he is larger than the puffers so, from what I have read they will leave him alone.

I just don't know what to do when I take that tank brackish. :( I wish I had another large tank, then maybe I could biotope it for something that he would be good in, but at the time being I don't.... I wish I had known how big he would get when I purchased him, but I didn't... :/

Just an overall mess. :( Any advice, help would be appreciated.

Unless you could get a larger tank, you probably would have to rehome him :/ Is the minimum tank size for the puffers a 55? If you could keep them in something smaller then you could keep the pleco in the 55g and move them elsewhere. :) Is the 29g in your sig broken?

The 30 Gallon (not 29) is a long (36x12x15). I have another 55 Gallon but it currently needs resealed.

The puffers (their are 2) require basically a 30 Gallon each or a 55 for 2.

EDIT: Forgot the 29 was still their. It is being built as a community tank for my sister's family.

Some fish/pet shops will take large pleco's if they have a pond or other large display tank. Not sure what part of the USA you're in but in the Chicago area there are some nature centers with large indoor tanks that will take them. I have an 11" common pleco in my 75g tank. He/she/it messes up the tank so much I have to vacuum the gravel every 5 days. Don't have the heart to give it up yet. I inherited it from my niece, who kept the poor thing in a 5 gallon tank.

Well, I'm going to let him finish cleaning the Puffer tank then I guess take him to the LFS and trade him for some ghost shrimp. :/ I just hope that he goes to a good home......
