Hi:

At first, I had one black (skirt) tetra who was constantly the victim of my 3 pink tetra's.

I added 2 other black (skirt) tetra's to make him feel better and the attacks of the pink tetra's stopped.

The problem is now that the 3 black (skirt) tetra's are often fighting among one another and nipping each other's fins.

At first, it looked like just teasing once in a while, but now, I see their fins are getting badly damaged. This means I couldn't even bring them back to the store.

I've been reading about fish tearing each other apart. I don't want to just sit and wait until it happens.

What do you do in a situation like that?

I've been thinking to add glow light tetra's in the tank. How do they compare with black tetra's? Are they bullies too?

Thanks for your input.

Sylvia

In general, it's best to get large schools of fish that tend to quarrel among themselves. At least six, preferably double that. This way the aggression will spread out more, and a single fish won't be the victim all the time.
