I don't know what happened. I changed my fish food to prima mini granules I think they are called and I did notice all the fish going crazy over them unlike how they are with flakes. I left them after their feed as normal all of them have gotten on well and never seen anyone fighting I watch them loads they all keep away from each other and seem ok. I came in to turn the light off before bed and my orange Micky mouse platty was floating and it was awful had no eyes left no tail nothing just the top part of its body. I saw it eating before that's the thing. now I do have two so maybe I thought I saw it eairler but it wasn't on the top id have noticed it. I have platties and neons guppies and gourami dwarf and the only culprit I can think of is my one lonely siemese fighter tho he seems to gentle. I don't wanna feed them the granules now what if it made them violent? dunno what happend tho feeling sad and sick hope u can help x

Really hard to say, could just be coincidence or simply an elderly fish? Missing eyes and tail is normal, fish eat the soft part of other dead fish.

I know some people have kept their Betta with other fish and had no problems, but it is usually recommended for Betta fish to live solitary, because they can be aggressive and start nipping other fish. Or other fish could nip them since the Betta's beautiful flowing fins make a nice target!

How long have these fish been living together? How big is your tank?

hi my fish have been together a few months and the tank is 190 litres. thank you for your help x

I just remembered that usually dead fish that float to the top have been dead for a while, a dead fish in the bottom of the tank means death has occured within the last few hours (can't remember the number). So quite possibly your platy had died from other causes before someone had a nibble on him.

Whenever I have a death in my tank, I check my parameters to try and figure out the cause, then I do a 50% water change!

some times dwarf goramis seem peacful but some times they just get mad that happened to me they just get mad and killed 2 of my loaches
