I am going to get a tetra soon, maybe a school of them, and i was wondeering which type? I have a five gallon, heated, filtered. And i would be thrilled if they bred! Especially if they bred! Tetras will be the only fish in my tank. What kind of tetra?

Tetras are shoaling fish and should be kept in groups, ideally 6 or more fish. Alone, or in small groups, they will be stressed. In a tank that size, you are going to be seriously pushed to find a species that can be housed in that kind of number. One species that is around a lot at the moment that stays small enough is Hyphessobrycon amandae often called an "Ember Tetra". These only grow to about 20mm.

Breeding tetras requires special water conditions and seperate tanks for breeding and raising the fry. It is not viable in a single tank of that size.
