What temperature do you keep your apple snail in?

My tank is at 78F-80F in the summer normally without the heater, how long would an apple snail live in that tempereature?

Other times its at 76F with the heater in the winter, fall, spring.

Dont forget to let my baby dragons and eggs live by clicking on them-1 day left for them to live :(

The 3 i have are in a tank thats a constant 82 they seem happy and livley enough, theyve also grown pretty quick to :), not sure if it's an ideal temp but it works for me.

I read that at higher temps theyre more lively but they die sooner(12-16 month lifespan)

I think that the way it works is,high temp= more lively, shorter life -----------low temp=not as lively, longer life

More questions, how big have your AS gotten?

Are they destructive?

do they get the size of coffee mugs?

I would say mine are nearly the size of a golf ball, from about 1cm in say 4-5 mnths ish, not destructive in the slightest, produce alot of waste but this variety doesnt eat plants which is a bonus.

coffee mugs im not sure about, i think the average is about golf ball size but i had herd they can get the size of a tennis ball

P.S... eggs clicked lol ;)

27-28C I keep mine at. That apple snail is probably Pomacea Maculata but if you have a planted tank you want Pomacea Bridgesi. The largest aquatic snail is the Australian trumpet snail (Syrinx aruanus) it is marine but grows to about 80cm in shell length with 20kg of flesh weight.

On the apple snail website it says,"Pomacea bridgesi or Pomacea bridgesii?" Is that because of the name changes or are they different species? When I go to petsmart the person working there always says,"I dont even know if they're alive". How would I be able to tell? There usually not moving. Would a black mystery snail be an pomacea bridgesii? Also do pomacea bridgesii need to breath oxygen?

By the way, do you keep one of those snails saltynay?!?!?!? Lol

Dad has a shell of one in the bathroom but it would be rather difficult to keep as a pet.... unless your reffering to the giant apple snail?

Have our apple snails in a tank that sits at 80F.
Had some before that were in a different tank w/ that same temp. They grew very quickly and quite large, but their lifespan seemed to be greatly shortened.
Can't actually remember how long they lived... with us.. maybe hmm... 6 months.. give or take.
