I got a new girl! But like I said in the topic, I'm awful with female tail types. She's easily twice the size of my little CT girl, in length and girth. I've called her Big Bertha. She's a pet shop buy, so I have no idea of her history or age, but all the girls they had in were this size. [I got a light bodied girl with red fins and a turqouise-ish sheen to her as well!] Can anyone tell me what tail type she is?

Sorry, best pic I could take, she moves fast!

i couldn't tell you exactly but she looks like she may be a CT VT cross. the bottom fin swerves outwards like a VT would but the tips on her tail suggest a young CT. but her bottom fin doesn't swerve like my girlies do so maybe a PK cross. i don't know but she is a looker!!!

Thanks guys for the replies! I would have said VT, but her size and the little crowns on her tail threw me a bit. She's full of character, very much the alpha female of the tank. She's all bark and no bite though, she'll flare at the other girls and then have a giggle when they back off

Here's a pic of her being cute

Looks like a CT or a combtail. She's very pretty. :flowers:

i would have to agree. she's probably a combtail. either way a beautiful girl. my girlfriend and i have a female betta, mercury (her name), she just flares the tankmates and they run with their tails between their legs (so to speak). she WILL though attack them if hey strike her and she ALWAYS comes out on top. but if the girls don't bother her and get out of her way, she doesn't mind them any business.
