They breed like crazy ive got 100s they come out more at night in my tank, there good for your tank though i was told as they burrow under the sand and move it about.
I just found one of them 5 minuets ago berried in my tank and was thinking exactly the same. I havent spotted anymore. Do they normally bury themselfs?
Oh is that right? how big to they grow to? I've not found anouther and the tank is now empty, so im 100% sure there is no more in there! he is currently in a small tank on his own without filteration or anything, should i get rid of him? or maybe keep him? i dont know
Take care of that snail and hopefully it will breed soon as they don;t need a mate. MTS are great cleaners. I have loads of them (deliberaty added) they keep the sand clean and eat all leftover veg down to the last scrap so I never need to vac the sand. As long as you don't seiously overfeed they keep their population in check. Don't seem to eat my plants.Agreed -they only grow to 1.5cm
Just to add to this....i belive i may have well over 200 of them now, im not sure if this is good but the large tank at the moment has been pulled down due to an infection, there is no fish in it atm just some plants and the snails and omg...there everywhere!
is this bad? should i try and remove some of them? i cannot belive how many there is lol
