what do most of you guys use to describe tank size, imperial or us gallons, to me its a huge difference;.

US gallons seems to be the standard unit used on this forum, if imperial gallons were used not only would we be confusing the americans :p (j/k) but the inch per gallon rule would allow people to keep far less fish.
 
Imperial as I live in UK.
I propose that every onr use litres as they are the same worldwide :D

Considering there are alot of Americans on this board, that wouldn't completely work. Litres would confuse us. Not because we're dumb or anything, just we don't ever use that measure.(Unless we're drinking soda :p )

hey it was only a suggestion.
so do you still but petrol in gallons then?
 
yeah i know it would make sense but after the ammount of 'what are you talking about' looks ive recieved off lfs's when inquiring about filters for my 149 liter tank i have given up and settled for gallons, just which gallon (us as above)
