What Size Pump Would You Recommend?

What size pump do you think I should use for a sump pump??

Tank is 24"x15"x15" with outlet dropping to refugium tank 24"x8"x8" then to sump. All holes are drilled 35mm so will be using 25mm vdl piping.

Is their a hard & fast rule??

i use a tmc rio 1700 on my tank and it pumps up 3" thru 3/4" pipe they have real good lift on them. i would reccomend them

dont forget your overflow pipe needs to be around tiwce the diameter of your return pipe
