What Sits Between Tank & Stand?

Hey everyone, I've been out of the loop for about 10 years but was missing it badly! I just bought a 200 gallon tank (72x24x24") and am building a stand for it now. The stand is just going to be built out of 2x4's for strength, probably spruce or pine but I'll dress it up nicely afterwards. Should I put a 1/2" piece of plywood between the stand and tank or plywood and styrofoam for some cushioning? I remember I had a 100 gallon once and used styrofoam but that was with a steel stand.

Anyways I look forward to your suggestions.

I'd still use Polystyrene between the tank and stand.
