What Shrimp Would Be Best?

I'm thinking of getting a couple of shrimps for my tank, can anyone dvise me which would be best and how many - I understand they don't add much to the bio load, so as my tank is pretty full, hopefully it would still be ok for me to have a shrimp or two!

You might want to look at what is available at your LFS first. All I can find around here are ghost shrimp and bamboo shrimp. I guess bamboo shrimp are okay on their own - mine seems to be and I haven't found any info stating the opposite - and they are filter feeders. Ghost shrimp need to be in larger groups - the larger the better. (Don't do less than at least 6, or you'll hardly see them.)

How full is your tank and what are the inhabitants? Some fish do like to eat shrimp, and if so, stock up on the cheap feeder shrimp like ghost shrimp so if a couple make the dinner plate, there'll still be some there for you to enjoy.
