my betta if arriveing friday and i need to know wat im gunna do. iv got the main tank where hes gunna be liveing and it looks great but does need a lil more work, and im thinking by friday the water wont be redy for fish yet. iv got a bowl thats just under a gallon but has plenty of room for him to swim. im thinking of putting him in the bowl for the first couple days b4 adding him to the tank.

Now for what i need to know. wat should the water in his bowl consist of? should i put the water from his bag in there along with a solution i put together?, and wat kinda solution would be good for a betta thats been in a bag being shipped half way around the world for a week?

ooh.. hes almost there.. stress coat would be good probably.. water conditioner is always good for new water.. cycle couldnt hurt either.. maybe some salt too..

when mine arrived, i put them in containers, and they still are in containers.. not sure when i will have permanent homes for them, but you alrdy have a home for yours..

im sure you could probably put it in the tank if you wanted to .. but if there are other fish alrdy in there, quarantining him cant be bad :D

hope he arrives happy and healthy

well his home is almost finished and it should be done by then but i think i wanna put him in a smaller tank first and treat and condition him to make sure hes alright. i thing im gunna have the water be 1/2 the water from his bag, and the other half be my tap water with conditioner and salt in it. i dont got stress coat, but i should get sum.

yea i really gotta pick up some of that stuff too.. not sure if it really does much, but ive had a few stressed fish lately, one died, maybe the stress coat woulda helped.. i think ill pick some up too !!

might wanna use all the water, depending on how dirty it is and how much nasty poo there is floating around..

turkey basters are good for cleaning bowls.. so could always dump all the water in there and suck out the poop once it settles on the bottom with a turkey baster..

:)
