What Plant Is This, Please?

Girlfriend came home with this plant a few week back, it seems to be doing okay so far.
Any idea what it is?

It looks like some sort of sword, but I can't be sure on the specifics.

I looks quite similar to what is often called (in Australia at least ) Water Rose, maybe do some web searches and see if your plant looks the same.
