I really dont know why your fish is like that :( i would say something is just rotting him away, my fish look like that when why are died as if the other fish are eatting him.

Yikes Modaz...you really are having some bad luck this week. :(

Not sure what that is, but I'll try to do some research for possibilities.

tell me about it, yep me researching too but thought more than one person would help get it sorted quick :good: this is just in my 300L and it looks like hes shedding a layer of skin, none of the other fish are like it and the ones that died didnt look like this, doing the tanks stats as well as doing this and controlling my loopy puppy :look:

sorry layer of scales LOL

well im 98% sure its TB but just googled stuff and got directed to this forum with a topic on fish desease and pictures to go with them, but it was edited big time and closed so theres no help there...........typical

Much of what I've read about fish TB seems to be pointing towards that. :/ Maybe someone else will have a better answer for you, but in the mean time be really careful...fish TB makes nasty lesions on people.

Poor Hoplo :(

It does look like either some sort of Rot or TB :(

ive got both TB and melafix treatment, which would you use? looked on the boxes but it dont say whether i can use them at the same time

Melafix is basically just tea-tree oil which does kill some but not all bacteria/fungi. This is why it works well sometimes, and sometimes not all.

Usually it's not recommended to mix medications...

That being said...the poor guy is looking pretty rough. Kinda up to you to decide on if you want to risk it or not.

You can use melafix with any med I can think of. What are the ingredients in the tb med? By the red edges of the lesion it sure looks bacterial, you will need an antibiotic that deals with gram negative bacteria, as these are usually the ones that cause seemingly incurable infections in fish.

Yeah it does look like fish TB or some sort of bacterial infection so treat for that. However be careful if you clean your tank, this is infectious to humans.

I would say treat with a strong bacterial medication. I have seen bettas at stores look similar to that picture.

cheers for your adivice.
treating for ulcerationintense bacterial medication and added some tonic salts to hopefully sort it
