Well ladies and germs, just got back from the hospital and want to just remind everyone to be careful when using power tools. My dremmel got away from me tonight and decided to try and remove my thumb. Luckily the bit only cut through the nail and spared my bones, nerves, and arteries, but please everyone, be careful with your tools. Even a somewhat experienced machinist like myself can hurt themselves, so watch yourself. And I was almoast done with my sump too :( Gonna have to wait at least a week before I can use my thumb again :(. Cant wait for the nail to fall off, thats gonna look really cool :fun:

Ouch!

Good to hear nothing too serious happened

On a related note a few months ago one of my friends had the tops of 3 of her fingers (half the middle one and the top third of the pinky and ring fingers) cut off by a mower! Sadly they couldn't be re-attached, and it goes to show you how careful you need to be around dangerous equipment!

You didn't learn from my acrylic cutting accident then :p

Seriously though, it doens't take much to cause major harm so be careful people :look:

Ski - make sure you keep it away from the tank till its fully healed, there's some real nasty bugs in SW

lol, yeah it looks really mangled under there and will prolly leave a nice scar as a reminder :good:. Thanks for the tip aqua, but I wasnt planning on pitting it in the tank cause saltwater doesnt feel so good in fresh open gashes :)

Btw, this is a first time serious finger injuy for me and DAMN does it hurt... Feels like nano gremlins are pouring a mixture of fire and needles on my thumb to the beat of a war drum

I think every project I have ever done has blood on it from me somewhere or another. From working on my tanks, cars, house, etc. I think it gives the project character (or something like that)

Lol, yeah thats it... Character :p

I changed the bandage tonight as per the nurse's instructions and it looks mangled as hell. Kind of like someone diced up my thumb
