I dont no how many gallons but its 130L planted and rocked tanks with sand.

theres many. bristle nose is one of the more common cheaper veriaties, many plecs that stay small are commonly seen over £100. bristle nose you can pic up cheaply. also i think a rubber nose satys small.

more rare, well for a plec tha stays small and is rare you looking at about £150 - £200 depending on the species.

ok thank you but i was wanting sumthing more rare.

are you in Australia?
if so you are really limited on what you can have due to your govenments strict import laws.

may I suggest finding out what is available to you locally and then asking here if
it will be suitable for your tank

I live in the UK. i was look at a tiger peckoltia is that ok for my tank ????

are they a lot of money?

what do they eat???

do they eat other fish???

are they plant eaters???

:look:

I got a lovely little Peckoltia, L-205, for £15.00, from Wharf Aquatics in Nottinghamshire. If you shop around you will find something I am sure. Peckoltia would probably be best choice as they love wood and rocks and will leave plants well alone, I have seen BN's terrorise plants before, as will a lot of Ancistrus!!

not sure where you have been looking - but I'd stop shoping there :p

most small, more unusual (I wont use the word rare) plecs will be around £25-£30

Leopard frog plecs are a great eye catcher - yellow and black :)

The only problem with plecs will be seeing them - they are shy by nature and nocternal.
they can be brought round by feeding during the day and spending a lot of time watching them (so they get used to your presence)

I was just going to say...

Monty at Trimar has a list of several species that answer to these criteria and don't cost more than about 20 pounds. As soon as I get my big tank ready and mature, I shall order myself something nice.

Why go a little rare when you could maybee do a Zebra Plecs species tank? only joking but its always a option for you in a 130l i would think they would do fine.
