what kindof sand should i get for my 5 gallon for my betta?

I think you may be asking in the wrong place, might be worth asking in the beta forum

Generally though, for sand I've been advised (for tropical/coldwater setups) childrens play sand can be used, and is really quite cheap (£2.49 for a 15kg bag from Argos). Obviously you wouldn't need that much!
