Wal-mart has a catfish thats tagged lace catfish. Its dark brown has golden lines on it (not in a row) its stats say it groes to be 3'' and likes to be in groups of three.
Any ideas? :dunno:

Synodontis nigrita also known as the common Syno, Lace Catfish and False Upside down Catfish. Reaching up to 7 inches in size. :)

Hi fish_r_great :)

Well, if it's not that one, I'd guess that Walmart probably made the name up. It's not uncommon for chain stores to do that. :X

So, that leaves things wide open. What else can you tell us about this fish.

Many cory cats grow to about 3" and like to be in groups of 3 or more. Could it be a cory, or can we rule this group out? :dunno:

Here's the link with pictures of the different kinds or corys:

I wouldn't normally bump a thread this old, but whilst going through the older threads to move them into the subforums, I followed the link to the drawing and felt it was such a classic, it was worth replying!

Based on the drawing, I thought of Synodontis schoutendeni, or Synodontis flavitaeniatus. Both these fish are seen quite often in the trade.

I'm intruiged to see what the OP, (who is still around), thinks. A picture is worth a thousand words.
