What Kind Of Sand Is Safe?

I have a bag of something called "Country Stone Premuim White Play Sand, Washed, Dried, and Sized". I would love to put this in my tank, its pure white and gorgeous. The questions i have are: Would it be safe, or would it put foreign chemicals in my tank? Would the algea eater, snail, and ghost shrimp not be able to cope with it? I was thinking the algea eater might have a problem with it and the snail. And i am guessing i have to wash it, can anyone give me some tips on how exactly to do this? Do i just slosh it around and drain it in a big bowl? I don't have african water frogs at the moment, but i will be getting a couple soon. Also, if it wouldnt be best for any of the critters, i have a second tank i might be able to put them into depending on what it is. Thanks guys.

Play sand is perfectly safe, and won't bother any of your critters. I have kept all you listed with sand and they didn't have any problems.

the only bad sand is beach sand cause it has lots of salt.

Not to mention all the nasty bugs and parasites, etc. that you would find in it.
