Hey guys i have a female black molly in a 46 gallon by herself. I heard that mollies do well with salt in the tank. Can someone tell me what kind of salt the brand and how much to add to a 46 gallon tank. Also in about 2 weeks i will be adding 16 baby mollies to this tank so does it make a difference how much salt i will need to add depending on how many fish there are in the tank? I'm new at this so any help would be great. Thax.

Any salt with no additives like anti-caking agents (a form of cyanide) will do. Marine salt will do as well. You can add around 1-2tbsp of salt per gallon if you have only brackish water fish. And it has nothing to do with the number of fish.

You will also need to top up the salt once every couple of months along with the water change.

Since its not really a marine tank, I would recommend the cheapest :) But if you're more scientifically oriented take a look at this Choosing Marine salt

I have used a product called Supa Aquarium salt and also Sea salt from supermarkets.
