what kind of Rasbora is this?

Ok I was walking down the LFS today and see this kind of rasbora but it have no name on the tank yet I think they r newly imported. They have yellow scale all over their body with a black stripe in the middle of its body and an red stripe behind it eye and 2 yellow dot on its tail. It looks beatiful as well exp . Wonder what kind of rasbora is this. I cant seems to find its picture as I look online. Any one have idea about this fish?

nope its the kind of have a bala shark body but just the color is different and its 2" big I see from the LFS I have seem a few fully grown up like 5-6" in another LFS as well.

Just that those one I saw r better and with 2x yellow dot on the tail one on top part one on bottom.

I think this is what you're talking about:

thsoe are roseline "sharks" I'm not sure of the scientific name but you can search it on you're own I'm sure you are competent enough to do that.

Those are Barbus denisoni. They have many "common" names, the most common seems to be "Red Torpedo" or similar. If you search the forum you'll find numerous threads about them.

They are from India. There is also some confusion over their classification. They were wildly expensive when they first re-appeared in the trade about 2 years back, but have dropped to more sensible prices now.

Monty at Tri-Mar, one of the UK's mail order houses has B. denisoni for £10 right now.

where in NY?? in greece, ny - at pet world (ridge road), they are $25 - as of friday they had a few in stock...

exactly thats the fish I seem in fish store very expansive tho they sell for $20 for each 2" one . If they r hardy fish and could get alone with my tetra I surely would buy 2-3 of them. And thx guys for the help .
