What kind of pleco?

Is this a common pleco? They didn't have any names at the lfs when I bought him. Which was a while ago. He has grown quite a bit. I'm scared to find out how big he actually will get lol.

i have the same kind of pleco, used to think it was a common but infact it was a lyretail pleco. i can tell by the spots, coloration and the fact that teh bottom of his tail is longer than the top part

and you are right to be afraid to find out how big they get, if im correct (and i may not be) but i think lyretails grow to around 18 inches long mine grows very slow, but he may just be werid

I'll go with common too - the addonis plecs are a lot more 'pointy' and are blacker.

Well it could also be a buterfly pleco but its imposible with that pic. Most of the common plecs ive seen like the bf and so on have that kinda tummy.

Okay thanks He probably is just a common pleco. I'm sorry I couldn't get a better picture. He likes hiding and that was the only picture I could get was of his tummy upclose. To bad I have to get rid of him. He is gonna be way to big for my tank when he grows up. He is getting kind of big already
