I was in Petsmart today and saw some really cheap fish. I didn't look too close but I noticed they were a minnow but now that I'm thinking about it I can't remember what kind of minnow they were. Can anyone help me figure out what they are? they're about an inch long and are completely pale white/translucent colored.

Maybe Medaka otherwise known as rice fish

I'd wager it was a Rosey Minnow if they were pinkish and if they were grey then "Not so" Rosey Minnows  .

Nice you know what it is now.

My kids brought home some rosies they won at the school carnival back in October. We have 2 living in a 1.5 gal. "tank" that are doing fine with no air or filter. I change half of the water 2 or 3 times per week. They have been eating several year old goldfish flakes and seem to be thriving. I made them some small caves with granite rocks and they love hiding out sometimes. I've seen them in stores as feeder fish for 12 cents each. According to what I've read, some are in poor health being kept in huge numbers like fish bait, but ours seem fine. Does anyone else keep these little guys?

Edit - Jan. 10, I have added an air stone and they are still doing fine.
