I have just about all of the mardel products which one would be the best to use for mouth rot it is advanced I have had this betta for about three months and I noticed him laying at the bottom of the tank for the past couple of days when he didnt come up to eat I knew they were something wrong and sure enough is lips are just about gone, the water is normal readings and the ph is 6.8 he is in the community tank. but I removed him last nite and put him in some triple sulfa he doesnt look anybetter this morning could someone please help me out with this little fellow

Bettafix works really well for mouth rot, I bought a betta with severe problems a few weeks ago and it healed him up rather quickly, BUT it's main content is melaleuca tree oil, which I know you don't like. You could also try spectrogram, it's an antibacteria/ antifungal med

you know everyone brags on that stuff but I dont know if it just me or not but it seems like everytime I use the stuff my fish winds up dying within a hour after I put it in the water, it could be that they are to far gone when I put it in with them that they are ready to die anyway I dont know. what causes mouth rot none of the other fish in my community tank has it. I changed his water this morning and put some maracyn in with him I really dont hold much hope I sure dont have much luck when it comes to bettas anyway and I dont now why I thought they were hardy fish and from what I have seen at those pet stores and them being kept in those little cups my tanks would seem like a mansion to them but I keep them real well for about three months and then they get something wrong with them and die every time.
