What Kind Of Lights Do I Need?

I have a 75 gallon community tank with some plants but I really want to add more plants but I want to make sure my lights are strong enough for plants that need more light.


Right now I have two 30 watt 50/50 bulbs? These came in the hood I bought with my aquarium so I am not sure. Most of my plants are growing very well but I would like to add more.

Should I invest in some better lights?

Why do you want to add more lights? More light means you need to provide the plants with more nutrients and you'll have greater risk of algae.

If all is ok I'd leave it.

Just good flow and the wattage you have should be fine for low tech approach, if you want to add CO2 and go high tech then I'd go with LED's.
