What kind of fish is this?

Hi, does anyone know what kind of fish this is?

Looks like a North American native with fin rot on its tail. Where did you get it from?

Found it with small feeder goldfish that we bought from fish store. Noticed it looked different and it’s behavior was different so we never feed it to the fish and instead raised it and finally it was big enough to put in tank with cichlids but initially there was a lot of fighting but now he has established himself. Do you know the specific name of the fish? Thanks.

Could be either a Pomoxis or a Lepomis of some type
