To all the good people out there,

I really need help. I have had this fish for a while, I have a 25 gallon freshwater tank, but he/she seems to be getting bigger (I bought him as a 4.5 inch, now he's between 7 and 7.5 inches after 1.5 years). I just need to know the name of fish so I can do some research on what he likes to eat, habitat, partners, water temperature, etc. I know that he/she is tropical. If anybody recognizes or has any ideas please let me know. I really appreciate it.

I could be wrong, but i think thats a species of Oscar, and if it is, that tank is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy too small my friend.

Start there till the more experienced guys get on at lunchtime!

and :hi:

I know next to nothing about cichlids but it looks a bit severum-ish to me (except the body is the wrong shape). Either way, it's definitely not stopped growing yet. You're going to consider a serious tank upgrade if it's some sort of south American cichlid like I imagine it is.

I don't normaly like big cichlids but that one looks nice :)

Thanks a lot guys,

I'm sure now that she's a female vieja synspilum. I'm glad I know, and kind of sad because I'm gonna start looking for someone with a big enough tank to take good care of her. I can't really afford nor I have enough space for a new bigger tank right now. This really sucks but I have to do it so she can be happy. Thank you,

Rony
