I'm inheriting a wide 55gal. aquarium, and im looking to use it for breeding smaller fish for feeders.

I was wondering if any small feeders can be bred, within the sametank, if so which kind can.

I'd appreciate it anyone could help me out THANKS!!!!

Wow. Fast dropping topic. I posted this in the livebearer section too. ^_^

But if anyone here knows, could someone tell me if any combination of live bearers can live together in the 55gal and breed still? A variety would rock. =)

I would get guppies.. they multiply fast. my friend got a pair last week and the female's already pregant. Platies are cool as well. I think all livebearers could be put together in the same tank.

Both mollies and guppys will breed in large numbers. I had a friend with 4 mollies in a 10 gallon tank, in 3 months she had over 80. She was giving them away as quickly as she could, but they out bred her. With their large spawning numbers, my only concern would be if you have enough fish to feed them to. Good luck with it though.

we only have 3 animals that eat the fish, 2 green sunfish, and 1 albino frog.

Normally we feed them small goldfish, they all can eat them with noproblem.

So smaller fish such as Mollies, and Guppies should go alot faster.

Oh yeah, and I only have 25 gallons to work with now.

Now my only problem is finding a divider that will fit a 18" wide and 17" tall tank.

Any suggestions for that? If anyone has DIY plans for dividers, that'd be great.
