What is this?

Mind you this thing is smaller than a pencil eraser, but I managed to find it anyway. It seems to be retracting every now and again.

Any clues? Is it a type of squirt?

looks like a tpye of sea squirt to me. was it under the rock? if so then i would place it back as you found it so its not disturbed.

Nope, he is on this branchlike Tonga that is in plain view. Would he be better off hidden? Should I turn the rock on its side or anything?

No fair, mine are all white an dboring, yours have red bits

heres a pics of my sea squirt this is an old pic of it, it also has alot more red in it now oh and its always been in the light and it still grows

stellablu, if its growing happily here then dont move it. just let it stay where it seems most comfortable.
