Got this wierd thing with my new tank. I think its some kind of oversized barb. Heres a pic:

Its a banded leporinus (Leporinus fasciatus)

These can get to 8", are very bad fin nippers and can become quite aggressive as they mature

ive had one of these and they are very bad for nipping mine was an adult at just over 8" awesome fish but can be sooooooo aggresive

i'd love another one and ive seen some for sale but im not sure

roughly around 10 max i think they are not much at my lfs mate
