Recently, one of my Albino Tiger Barbs was having some serious swim bladder issues. I was sure he was going to die, but apparently it wasn't in the stars that day. He ended up pooping this out, and was immediatly better (after about 3 hours of swimming in circles upside down)

What is it?

it is, apparently, what was causing him to swim upside down. it does look like a tick, doesn't it. it's not though.

i did feed him the pea... hence this blob of guts

Have you come to any conclusions on this?? Im interested to know! That is one of the grossest things ever lol!

I believe constipation causes pressure on the swim bladder - hence the odd swimming.

not sure what on earth that is though :eww:

Known tiger barbs it has probbably just passed the remains of fins from other species in your tank lol (cats suffer fur balls, tiger barbs have fin balls) thats pronounced FIN balls and not thin lol

I can't tell... Can you take a high-res macro shot of it? 1600 X 1200 would be good.

Does look abit like a fin now kev mentioned it.

he's the only one missing a bit of finnage. perhaps it's a glob of food.... no other fish in the tank (save 3 other barbs and a pleco... but all are fine).

i'll try to take a better picture of it.... lol i still have it, how weird is that? i want to figure out what it is before i toss it out.
