The tentacles show really well on the original video. In the still pics. everything just looks like a fungal infection and they don’t show the full scope of this thing. I think this may not be a ‘parasite’ - as in an organism which has a specific host which it exploits - but just something looking for somewhere to live which happened to land on on an unfortunate passing fish rather than a nice rock.
 
I think there's a confusion with its large and numerous barbels as video is rather blurred.
So please @JamieTYV is there any kind of tentacles on your fish ?

There's no confusion... Rewatch the original video. There aren't "tentacles", but strange appendages that stretch out.
 
That's what I've always been told : never salted bath for scaleless fishes.
I’ve done it before in half doses with my cories but when I tried with my pleco, he went nuts! I could tell it was hurting him so I had to drain a 55G tank down about 80%. Poor guy.
