I'm trying to figure out if this fish is a CAE, a SAE, or something completely different. It was sold to me today on accident, but he is living alone right now just in case he is a CAE.

One of the other members told me she had a CAE but he was dark brown and looked different.

Please help if you can!!!

That's odd - why won't it let me attach pictures?

Here it is:

CAE for sure, if they haven't told you yet- when it is young it is a brill algae eater, but when it gets older it prefers artificial foods and fish slime and eyeballs.

Hi Acrobit, You've got an Oto/Dwarf Sucker.

An SAE (Siamese Algae Eater) is a lot slender than the average 'chunkier' Oto. You haven't got an SAE/'CAE'.

Both fishes eat algae in your tank.

Hope this helps. ;)
