I'm trying to put together a fairly small tank (13 gallons). I don't want to overstock, but want more than one kind of fish. I am thinking of a mid/surface schooling fish and a bottom feeder. How few cory's can I have for them to get along and not be stressed? What is the smallest 'school' they will tolerate? I want a peaceful tank!

Thanks!

hi there! i just got my first cory today. when i picked it out no one mentioned getting more than 1 but i just read that they are shy and might like to have a friend on the bottom. the web site said 3 should be good. i have a 10 gallon so mine is small, im thinking about getting 1 more buddy for him =o]

They say best in group of 6,but i had 3 for quite a while and they seemed really happy, spawning etc...

i have an 11 gallon tank i see where you are coming from i have 3 coryies 2 guppys 2 mollys and 2 neon tetras and a snail :D but any way this is fine as long a you use the one inch per fish per gallon ruleing system thats what i try to go by but tempeted to over stock but i won't
