Hi, I have a lot of rosy barb fry and about 5 platy fry in a 25 gallon and I was wondering what is the best way to crush up normal flakes into fine powder? It just seems like they are having trouble eating the flakes I crushed up. All I did was put some flakes in a bag and crushed them with my fingers. Thanks alot :)

I just crush it in my fingers too. I also have Rosy Barb fry right now. As well as a bunch of 10 week old fry. :hyper:

i just use my finger to crush flake foods

If they are haveing a problem eating then you may want to try fry liquid food like liqifry no 1 or 2 . 1 is for egglaying fish fry , while no 2 is for livebearer, after a 3-4 days they should be weaned on ground up flakes..Its worked for me.. :)

How about a mortar & pestle? (If you want it to turn into powder  )
That's what I've seen recommended. Then, dip the end of a toothpick into the water just enough to get it moist and dip it into the flake powder to get just a little on the end and hold the end of the toothpick into the tank for the fry to eat.
