What Is That?

I was watching my small betta tank with my betta and apple snail and saw that the snail had a long tube coming out of it. I've never seen it before and just want to know what it was. It went back into the shell when I was video taping it. I was thinking it was a pene , is it another sensor for food or something?

It was probably the siphon. The snail sometimes uses it to extend to the water surface and breath.
