You can upload your photo in the members pictures area and then either use the IMG tags to link it into this post or just provide a URL link to the other thread.

Allmost certainly a Pimelodus But it is either P Albofasciatus or P Maculatus both can reach a length of about 25cm.

Nice fish mate.

Thanks very much its def a P Albofasciatus i just looked up his profile. (does he have a common name or do we just call him felix!!!) How old would you say he was? hes about 9 inch long? He sounds like a good enough chappie to have in the tank..he done realy fine today. I fed him some shrimp and he ate it all up was funny to wach. He is very lively too.

Common name for P Albofasciatus is white striped pimelodus ( Felix sounds better), as for age hard to say really at 9 inches he/she is almost fully grown but they can be quite long lived (over 10 years) so not easy to say, they can attain half there full grown size within the first 2 years of life..

They will eat fish that are small enough to fit in there mouth, one thing to be aware of is that the hard fin rays are poisonous. If you get stabbed by them pain can last upto 24 hours and can be accompanied by numbness  .

I have a pim. Which i think is an Albofasciatus, but I have never found a picture of one with quite the same patterns on it...

Yours is a lovely specimin though, How big is your tank? He may enjoy the company of a shoal of friends, my albo, blochii and pictus all swim about together (despite the size difference of the pictus). and they never seem to be agressive.

I don't know if you know this, but puffers are not best suited to community tanks, as they have a reputation for being fin nippers. It would most likely be beneficial to rehome them.

As for the size of your tank, it went over my head. Sorry.

Yes I know about there nipping and i will keep an eye on them at the moment they are good natured and play amongs themselves and dont bother the other fish if they show signs of nipping then i will re-home them. They are the south american type and are the most gentle of the puffer fish but thanks for the advice i will be watching them carefully.
