Current stock is

49"x20"x26" / 105 USG / 90 impg / 385 litre, planted with Anubuis, Java Fern

4 x Severum (Gold, Green and 2 x Red) 2 Adults, 4 JUVIS
2 x Heros Notatus (spotted Severum) JUVIS
1 x Blue Acara
1 x Festivum
5 x Colombian Tetras
1 x German Blue Ram
1 x Bulldog Pleco

I'm thinking of switching out my colombian Tetras, they are just not bright enough for me, what is another fish similar that is amazon based?

I wouldnt mind Tiger Barbs, but i want to keep my tank Amazonian only.

Just had a mad white spot outbreak so don't want to add anything in the near future, will wait a few months.

My final stock will be

3 x Severum (1 red spot male, 2 rotkeils or 2 from the ones i have depending on what looks best)
1 x Blue Acara
1 x Festivum
1 x Ram
1 x Gold Nugget (will get rid of my bulldog)
3 x Geo Tapajos
8 x Shoaling fish of some sort.

True true, but i think the other fish will eat them ie: the Blue Acara or Festivum, i know the Sevs will be good with them because i have had adults with fry and they have not touched them in the past.

Try some golden barbs they don't shoal as much as some of the tetras but i think their colour ill suite what you're got or you could try some orange/red danios they'll whiz around chasing each other all day

not from the Amazon though........

Whats wrong with the colombians? i have three and there very neon in colour,i love em....

Just have a look at the tetra range, have you looked into pencil fish, although not colourful

I know what your saying you want amazon only, however not sure how much more colour you can get than a colombian tetra, mine are very intense blue/red, much like a cardinal in colour except lines not defined.....so i would say concider contenders like, Filament Barb,Odessa Barb

I know they've already been mentioned and are actually from asia, but gold barbs really would fit in quite well. Mine always shoaled super tightly and they're extremely foracious eaters so can hold their own with bigger fish. A good choice if you decide you're willing to deviate from amazonian and like bright yellow and orange.

Yeh i have looked at them before, if i was gonna go for barbs tho, I'd go for Tiger or Odessa, but i want to keep it completely Amazon, with fish from similar water etc, biotope type thing.

Lots of wood, and java ferns and Anubuis etc and a few fake vallis and amazon swords (cos my sevs would kill real ones, trust me I've tried lol)

hey ye ive got odessa barbs gonna get some tigers too with my cichlids the odessea really do brighten up in your tank compared to lfs grow to good size to 4" so i heard
