Right now I have the default crappy filter that comes with this 10 GL tank and I think I'm overdue for buying a better one, right? It's a freshwater tank btw.

i have a Penn-Plax cascade 150 Power Filter its meant for a 30-130 gallon tank but it was only like 39.97 Canadian pretty cheap. works quiet and the filters are like 4.99 with carbon in it, keeps my tank nice and clean.

I use an aqueon pf 10 on my 10 gallon. Came with a kit. It works pretty well. Its around $15. $10 on amazon and no more than $20 anywhere I've seen it.

My 30 gallon aqueon pf 30 is definately quitter but yes it is quiet. On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being soooooo loud and 10 being silent I'd say my 30 is a 8 or 9 and my 10 is a 7 1/2

Dont always go for the cheapest version you see, sometimes it can result in a fish death.

Any more suggestions? I think I'll pass on the Aqueon 10 after reading the reviews on Amazon...

i use the Aqua Flow 50's in my 10gs, small internals. dunno if you can get them over there mind.

What did you read that turned you off? I read a few false ratings and comments...

I have an aqueon for a 55 gallon and im happy with it and it's quiet hasn't given me a problem yet
