What illness is this

Ok,my new swordtail male is worrying me, he had white clouds in one eye and today his eye is really swollen, is this dropsey? or Fungus,please someone tell me, because it is only on one eyeand i would like to know how to treat it

Could it be popeye? If it is, aquarium salt works best. I'd also reccomend using a hospital tank, especially if you have non-brackish water fish in your tank.

Too late, when i got up there a few minute after i posted that post, i found him dead on the floorin the aqurium...



I really do not have any luck with the male swordtails, i may have treated it too late, i added Fungus control treatment, Mythreal (sp?) blue and some conditioner... But i fear it was too late...

Sorry to hear about your swordtail. It sounds as if he had advanced popeye. How old is your tank? I don't like nagging, but most diseases are caused by poor maintainance of the tank and popeye (in it's early stages) can be cured by frequent water changes.

I HAD THIS ON MY GOURAMI ITS EYE WAS REALLY STCKING OUT OF ITS HEAD AND EVENTUALY IT FELL OUT BUT NOW HES OK MINUS 1 EYE HE LOOKS REAL FUNNY
