Right folks - the nano has taken off very well..

I do have a few questions though...

I seem to have 2 hard corals growing... Any ideas what they are?

the 2nd was obvious on the LR when I got it - but neither myself or the LFS thought it would still be alive..
But its got small polyps emerging all over it :)

The first looks slimilar to an LPS candycane coral. NOt quite the same though... prolly a similar genus.

The second is definitely an encrusting montipora. They can be somewhat demanding corals in that they require very good lighting, dcecent flowrate, and especially stable calc and alk. If you can nurse the encrusting monti back to health you're doin a fantastic job with your nano.

Back to health...?? What do they nomally look like then? (I'm off to look now)

It's only been out about 7-10 days... Previous to that is looked like an old dead coral skelenton
I must be doing something right then :)

back to health may not have been the best choice of words. more like, "if you can keep it alive as-is and grow it"

Its definitely alive with extended polyps currently so your tank is probably in pretty good shape as far as water conditions go. keep it up and the monti will probably do well. very slow growers just as an FYI
