What forum do Rainbow fish go in?

I belive on this site they would be classed as an oddball

That's the tradition from what i understand, but it seems they would be more appropriately discussed in the same forum as the cyprinids and characins. :dunno:

They are not either of those families though, so it would cause more confusion.
They are in a family of thier own Melanotaeniidae(rainbowfish) the class is also different Atheriniformes(silversides)

I hope this explains why they are classed as oddballs here. :dunno:

I understand that they are not in those families, but as far as keeping them, their behaviors, etc, they are much more like characins and cyprinids and could be safely discussed in the same forum without confusion by simply adding rainbowfish to the forum description. Oddballs have specific needs and rainbowfish really don't fit in with them, imo.

I agree. That's what I was thinking when I was looking around for info on them too. Oddball's has basically become a Puffer Forum it seems anyway ;)

I think you have raised a good point. ask in the suggestions forum to see if rainbow fish can be added to cyprinids and charcines.
