We have a young Bristlenose, shop had it labled as starlight but after some reasearch it seems it may no be one of these. Was just wondering what else these can be fed fruit and veg wise? as alge and algea wafers and catfish pellets must be boring after a while. I know of cucumber but does it have to be boiled? and it seemed to like potatoe but does anyone have a list of whats fine for them to eat? and how it should be prepaired? cheers for any input

No need to get too concerned. They will also eat stray food which makes it to the tank floor. Courgette is appreciated and some say romaine lettuce or spinach, things like that, pumpkin or squash, sweet potatoes ... I don't know of any vegetables which we eat that would really harm them. I would avoid things like avocado because that seems to be toxic to a lot of animals. Essentially it is only a supplemental to their other food, a treat, so they will appreciate it.

Yeh i know that theyl eat stray food etc but once in a while a wee treat for it would be nice i thought. ill just stick in random fruit and veg whenever theres some being eaten in the house then and see what it likes and doesn't like
