it depneds on the size of your tank really male bettas in community tanks are very risky, since each has their own temperment

if you have a large enough tank, you can keep a betta with cory cats (3 or more since they like to be in groups) i would suggest a ten gal for that or a 5 gal if you get dwarf/pygmy cories
