 I have a 10 gallon tank but I am unsure as to what fish to add to it, at the moment I have:
1 Blue Gourami
3 X-ray Tetras
2 Leopard Danios
1 Silver Shark (with the black fins)
1 Algae eater
1 Silver Tip Tetra (last Survivor of a bunch)
1 Guppy (that looks like nemo)

I dont know if I should add more because the shark and the algae eater will grow quite big the shark is about 3.5 inches long, the Gourami is about 4.5 inches long and the algae eater is the same size as the shark. The gourami is only suppose to live for 3 1/2 years but I have had mine for four years going on five, so it shouldn't get much bigger. But I have only had th eshark and the algae eater for about a year and they have almost caught up on the gourami when they were much smaller to begin with.
Any ideas?!

i guess the shark you have is a bala shark and these grow huge and need to be in a shoal/school. they grow uoto around about 30cm so i would suggest returning it back where you got it from.

Also return your lone tetra as these are shoaling also and u dont have room for 2 shaols of tetras.

with your other tetras and danios i suppose you could keep them the way they are if they active and arnt shy but again these are shoaling fish and need to be a group of 6 or more.

Your algea eater maybe a large pleco. do you have any pictures of it. if not look on the internet to try and find out what you have brought because you may have well of brought a common pleco which can reach to 60cm's.

I dont know anything about gaourmis so i can help you there.

Hope this helps.

Hi;

Adult
length species
15cm Blue Gourami
5cm X-ray Tetras
6cm Leopard Danios
35cm Silver Shark (with the black fins)
???? Algae eater
6cm Silver Tip Tetra (last Survivor of a bunch)
6cm Guppy (that looks like nemo)

Result
you are already overstocked
the shark will need a large tank and soon
the tetras are both schooling fish and need
groups on five on each to keep their aggression down
the same for the leopard danio, additionally they need
plenty of room due to the level of activness.
guppies will be more healthy and colourfull if kept in
groups but can be on their own for short periods of time.

Conclusion
choose a species or two and rehome the rest then
get more of those chosen ones.

I have learned that danios are better off with about five or more, so if you are to keep those you need to get rid of other fish and get a few more danios.
I am not so sure about other fish but I definitely think you need another/ a bigger tank for all of those fish and if not another tank, less fish.

I think when you start out with fish..it instantly addicticts you. Heh ..its easy to overstock when you new because the fish are so awsome. The bala sharks are nice and all BUT im not sure how long your tetras will stay alive because your shark looks at it as a nice little snack for a rainy day.. The sharks can get huge like everyone said :dunno: ...oh well
