First of all hi a ty for any replies
im planning on getting a few new fish this week sometime but cant decide what to get or what is acceptable my current stock is as follows:
1x gold gouramai
1x silver gouramai
9x guppys (varied female/male)
1x silver shark 4" looking after it while friend sorts out his new tank
5x tiger barbs
1x sailfin gibbiplec
1x 5" common plec
2x reb crabs
there currently in a 4.5ft tank
and comment would be greatly appreciated

Crabs? what do they look like how big etc? as i'm pretty sure these may killl smaller fish, so they may be out of the question.

there about an inch but there fed pellets and are scavengers more than hunters the only eat the dead fish and they dnt get much bigger than that :)

the crabs should be fine as long as they are well fed, but some good fish for your tank are zebra loach, white clouds, or glass-cat... also the clown pleco is a sweet looking community fish and is not an alge eater... it will eat drift wood and its nice to throw in some agle waffers (i also heard it eat vegitables but i have never seen that done)...

cheers any more opinions would be great :)

well there are many options for you

you could go with more livebearers, platys or swords would work well
or maybe add a shoal or two of one of the nice sized tetra species, blue colombian, serpae, black phantom are just a few that could work,
Dwarf cichlids could also work, have at look at blue rams, bolivian rams and Keyholes.
You also have the option of going for another barb species, cherry barbs and gold barbs would look nice.
For the bottom you could look at some of the botia species, these are in the same family as clown loach but stay at a much more manageable size, you could look at Lohachata, Striata or Kubotai, (I have kept all three with red clawed crabs in the past)
Another option could be a few rainbows. Bosemani are possibly the most widely available, at least in my area, others you could look at are featherfin rainbows, blue rainbows and red rainbow.
you could also look at something like hatchet fish for the surface area of your tank,

Bin them all and change your tank to a mbuna tank :shifty:  :good: lol

well cheers everyone that replied i went too the fish shop today and ended up getting 10 neon tetras and 6 black phantom tetras :) there just settling in now hopefully all should be well
